Written and directed by Cécile Favier
After 30 years of heated debate between public authorities and activist organisations, the first two French reception centers allowing drug addicts to inject themselves with their drugs opened in Paris and Strasbourg in the autumn of 2016. Public opinion was shocked. The centers were immediately referred to as "shooting galleries".
The film is based on the daily lives and the voices of substance users and medical and social workers, A Lesser Danger is the story of the Argos reception center in Strasbourg after it opened two years ago. It seeks to set the record straight and point out the difference between what people imagine and the facts.
